Synopsis:

Bullied at school and ignored at home, Billy Casper finds and trains the kestrel falcon, Kes. The kids at school think this is great and things look bright for Billy but tragedy is just around the corner. Nearly 50 years on, this stunning film about a young Yorkshire lad who finds happiness befriending a bird of prey is still as powerful and moving as ever, which is probably why Ken loach is still winning awards today.
