God's Own Country
Written and directed by Yorkshire-born filmmaker and friend of the Picture House Francis Lee, God’s Own Country won great acclaim when released, with prizes at Sundance and the British Independent Film Awards. It was also a firm favourite amongst everyone here at the Picture House.
While the depth of the film’s narrative clearly struck a chord, for many the key to its success was how well it captured love in glorious, messy, passionate, and tender technicolour. So what better film to revisit again, this Valentine’s Day.
