Singin' in the Rain
Set during Hollywood’s difficult transition from silent films to “talkies”, Singin’ in the Rain remains a classic for lovers of movie-musicals and those with a fondness for Hollywood’s golden age.
While often remembered purely for Gene Kelly’s famous dance number to the titular song, the film boasts an all-star cast and comes briming with incredible performances; O’Connor’s slapstick self-deprecation in Make ‘em Laugh being another highlight, as is Good Mornin’, where Debbie Reynolds, only 20 at the time, does an incredible job matching pace with two veteran dancers, Kelly and O’Connor.
Singin’ in the Rain has been loved by generations of movie goers and stands as a seminal work of musical cinema.
