Film description

The new feature from director Benedikt Erlingsson’s (Of Horses and Men) addresses the topic of environmentalism in a typically humorous, quirky and intelligent way.

Alongside her placid job as a choir conductor, Hala (Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir) is a passionate environmental activist. After her successful campaign against the local aluminium industry, she is about to commence her biggest operation yet, that is until some unexpected news arrives – her adoption application is finally approved.

Magnificent Icelandic landscapes, plot twists, Geirharðsdóttir’s splendid performance and a brilliant score – Erlingsson combines all this and more to tell a compelling story that explores matters of pressing concern.
