Because of two small steps at the cinema’s main entrance, step-free access to the main auditorium and foyer is available via a side entrance. If you wish to access the cinema from this way, please let a member of staff know upon arrival.
Unfortunately none of the toilets have step-free access.
We currently have three wheelchair spaces in the main auditorium – one at the back left, one at the front left and another at the front right. If you wish to reserve these in advance of your visit, please call the cinema.
We offer a number of specialised screenings that help to make the cinema more accessible for many. On Mondays we regularly hold fully subtitled Captioned Screenings for visitors who are d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing. For visitors who are blind or have sight problems, we offer an Audio Description facility. And on the 3rd Sunday of every month, our Autism Friendly screenings provide a safe environment for those on the autism spectrum to visit the cinema.
We also run semi-regular Memory Matinee screenings, helping those living with dementia – and their friends and family – to visit the cinema. These screenings are currently held between the Hyde Park Picture House and Rose's Tea Bar in HEART, Headingley.
CEA Card Holders
We are currently enrolled in the CEA Card scheme, which enables disabled visitors to bring along a guest free of charge. They just simply need to show their card at the box office and a free complimentary ticket will be issued. Details of the scheme and how to apply can be found here: ceacard.co.uk
Throughout 2020, we will be carrying out extensive redevelopment works, which will include ramped access to the main entrance, an accessible toilet on ground level, and a lift providing wheelchair access to multiple levels of the building. The cinema plans to re-open its doors at the start of 2021, following these improvements.
